Cooperstown Dreams Park during Championship Game
Coming to Cooperstown for a baseball tournament? You’re probably headed to Cooperstown Dreams Park or All Star Village — two incredible week-long experiences built just for youth baseball players and their families.
Both tournaments bring the dream: pin trading, team bonding, home runs under the lights, and memories that stick around way longer than a single summer.
As a local who’s seen thousands of families come through town — and played in All Star Village for four summers — here’s what actually makes each place special, and what to know before your week kicks off.
Cooperstown Dreams Park
Location: Just 5 miles outside the village, Dreams Park might just be the dream park in Cooperstown (pun intended).
Fields: 22 grass fields, all beautifully kept
Fence Distance: 200 feet from home plate
Dreams Park is huge. We’re talking 80+ teams every week, tons of energy, and games going late into the evening. It’s the bigger of the two tournaments, and that comes with big-time vibes.
Each team gets its own barracks, and every player has a bunk — it’s like a baseball summer camp. The complex itself is well-run and organized, and everything feels exciting from the minute you arrive.
Fun fact: Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, David Price, and Chris Sale all played here when they were younger.
Extras Include:
-
American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame ring ceremony for every player
-
Opening ceremonies, skills competition, and fireworks
-
Pin trading is a huge part of the week
-
Close to the Hall of Fame and Doubleday Field
Cooperstown All Star Village
Location: Oneonta, NY — about 30 minutes from Cooperstown
Fields: 12 fields total, including a few turf
Extras: On-site bunks, a swimming pool, and Hall of Fame day passes for players and coaches
I played four summers at All Star Village — two 10U, two 12U — and it was awesome. The fields are built into the hillside, and every field has a different look to it.
One of the most memorable fields has a 12-foot Green Monster — and yes, it’s as fun to hit over as it sounds.
All Star Village Also Includes:
-
Air-conditioned team bunkhouses with 52" cable TVs
-
An exclusive wiffle ball field
-
A pool shaped like a baseball glove
-
A hilltop restaurant that overlooks the fields and broadcasts games
-
A full-service restaurant and bar for families
-
Custom gear like engraved bats, pins, and jerseys (Under Armour)
What They Have in Common
-
Pin trading is huge at both. Bring a ton. Then bring more.
-
Both have on-site housing for teams
-
Families will have plenty of downtime — bring lawn chairs, snacks, and Sharpies
-
Both have tournament-specific pins — but you’ll find the real gems downtown
-
Similar atmosphere: tons of energy, cheering crowds, music, and moments that feel bigger than youth baseball
Local Tip: Where to Trade Pins
Don’t just trade at the fields. Take your pin stash into the village. The Hall of Fame gift shop has official tournament pins, and Main Street is full of kids swapping on corners, curbs, and benches.
If you really want to go home with a rare set, spend one day downtown just walking around with your collection. You’ll find dozens of other players doing the same thing.
